The Tom and Phyllis Veazey Scholarship

Tom and Phyllis Veazey

The Tom and Phyllis Veazey Scholarship is a four year scholarship to attend The University of British Columbia. The Scholarship pays for tuition, books and fees and is of an approximate value of $10,000 per year.

The Scholarship is funded by the estate of Clair Thompson (Tom) Veazey. Tom bequeathed his estate to fund scholarships in memory of his late wife Phyllis Veazey. Tom and Phyllis Veazey were both career teachers in inner city schools in Vancouver. Phyllis taught for many years at Sir Winston Churchill Secondary School and Tom was the head of the Art Department at John Oliver Secondary School for the last 24 years of his career.

The Scholarship is administered by the Veazey Scholarship Foundation which is a registered Canadian charity, no. 80839 3656 RR0001. The Scholarship is also supported by the donations of the lawyers and staff of the law firm of Borden Ladner Gervais LLP and the assistance of the Vancouver Inner City Education Society.
